Nor-Easter - Courtney (Day 2)

I am currently stranded inside the house. It's been snowing, and snowing, and SNOWING non-stop since about 5:00.

Yesterday, Tony made the mistake of opening the door, and a whole bunch of snow blew into the house. He then proceeded to make a snowball and throw it in my face. Then I put snow down his pants. It was a good day.

We also went to the grocery store yesterday, and it was PACKED. People were frantic, and ripping everything off the shelves. I had to fight an old lady for some bread. Granny and I decided it was imperative that we go to the store, after the storm warning came on T.V.

Basically, the news said we would all be on lockdown after the storm hit. It was a "state of emergency" and no one is allowed on the roads, except for "business trucks." I guess that means the snow plow and salt trucks. Anyone who is on the road after the storm hits will be fined around $150.

So we raced to the grocery store, got all the essentials (plus some things we didn't really need at all...) and arrived home right before it started snowing. As of this moment, the snow is covering about a quarter of the front windows. I don't know how long it will be till we can leave the house. There's also a bit of hail now; I can hear it hitting the roof. Hopefully that doesn't cause any damage....

Oh, and Dad: thanks for the fire wood. We really needed it. It took us a while to actually start the fire, but we did a pretty good job. The news said that it was important to have some kind of alternate heat source if the lights go out. They also gave a whole list of what may benefit you in a storm. Here's a link to a site that gives you all the essentials.

Anyway. Granny, Tony and I are going to watch movie. I'll keep you posted.

- Courtney :)
