Hurricane - Mike

Dear Grandma & Granpa,

I just wanted to tell you that up here in Delaware, we are expected to be hit by Hurricanes for the rest of the week. Hurricanes are formed from evaporating moistures mixing with warm or hot air.We know about this because Hurricanes are monitored by satellites and other survieillance equiptment. These winds cirlce counter-clockwise around an apex high in the atmosphere. These are obviously very dangerous. Wind speeds vary from 74-200 miles per hour, and the temperature is at least 79 degrees Fahrenheit. There is very high air pressure on the outside and lower air pressure on the inside. A hurricane will last a long time, because it grows when it picks up moisture from the surface and fairly warm water. The hurricane will gradually get smaller and slow down, and eventrully it will be gone. But after a hurricane, there is a good chance that it will be followed by severe storms.
So wish us well as we try to survive this massive storm!
