Hurricanes 2 Kelsey

Dear Aunt Donna,

Well might I say the grocery store was pretty fun. We got so much food that its not even funny, our pantry is now loaded with canned goods and things we can easily eat during the storm. The weather seems to be getting really bad, the past day we have seen some immense changes. There has been excessive winds that strike in the middle of no where. The storm has not hit yet but I'm getting really scared because there could be winds that reach a high of 155 miles per hour. Along with strong winds we will receive excessive rain. The rain can easily destory houses, creating lands lies and many mud slides. Flash flooding may occur also due to torrential down pours. Many thunderstorms will hit our area also with a maximum sub stained winds of 39-73 miles per hour.

Preparing for the storm is the most important thing for us right now. We are all scattering around the house looking for things to pack up and turn off. The most important things to remember when a hurricane hits is to always stay indoors away from winds and glass doors. Mom and dad are making me and Kayla lay on the floor under a table or another sturdy object. They already said that was the plan, I just wanted to laugh. Its a matter of time that the storm will hit, we are constantly listening to the radio and the local news channels. Kayla and I went around the house turning off all water supplies and filling the bathtubs with water.(click here for more) This is for water safety. When hurricanes hit the water will become unsanitary, which means it will not be good for drinking or cooking things. Turning off the propane tank is always a good idea and we are going to avoid using the phone, so you will be getting a lot more blogs from me. If worse comes to worse we will evacuate the area if instructed too. Well its getting late and I'm super tired. I will talk to you very soon, I promise.

Love,
Kelsey
