Day 2- Eric- Hurricanes

Howdy Uncle Bill,

As you know I told you about the Hurricane Eric advisory. I'm not sure if you know what that means so I'll tell you about it later on. The most important part that I need to talk to you about is the Hurricane itself. We are in the midst of one right now. It quickly went from a advisory to a watch then to a warning.

As I said I would tell you about the advisories. It is like there might be a storm or it will move on a different path. Watch is when the storm is coming for your area. It might hit your area directly or just brush past it meaning it won't bring as much damage as it would directly hitting you. A warning is like you will be hit directly. There will be destruction. You will get pounded by rain and wind. It wouldn't be a good idea to be in a boat at that time.

There are different types of hurricanes. They can be as low as category 1 and high as category 5. Category 1 hurricanes are low damaging hurricanes. They have some force but not a lot. Category 2 hurricanes are one step ahead of a category 1 hurricane. It will be more destructive but not as destructive as a higher category hurricane. Category 3 hurricanes are like the medium powered storms. They bring heavier winds and rain. They will blow over some little trees and take a few shingles off your roof. Category 4. This hurricane will bring destruction to areas where it hits. Very strong gusts of wind and rain coming down at a rate of 1.5in. an hour. Thats a lot of rain! Category 5 is the worst storm ever. It will cause major floodingst likely have to abandon your house for higher ground. Trees will be knocked over and power outages will take place. Just be lucky if you don't get hit by a category 5 hurricane. Then you will be in some trouble.

Hopefully we don't get pounded by this hurricane too badly. See you guys soon.

~Eric~
